This class is perfect for beginners or anyone looking to brush up on their approach to watercolor. Monday, August 22, 2016 Registration Fee: $65 / Supply Fee: $10 Register Here Through the exploration of small studies, this workshop will provide absolute beginners as well as skilled artists looking to brush up on their approach to watercolor an opportunity to explore their own creativity, to study color and the fluidity of the medium, and to walk away with two small finished works. Participants will also learn how to access their creative side and how to organize their tools and supplies for greater clarity. Using a limited color palette, participants will develop their first painting by exploring negative shapes and layering techniques using transparent glazes. In the second painting, participants will add salt and splatter techniques to create greater depth and texture in their work. A group critique will also help students learn how to make their paintings stronger through the use of composition and color. Each participant will receive a packet of two 5” x 7” watercolor sheets with envelopes. All paints, brushes, paper water buckets, support boards and paper towels will be supplied by the instructor.
