Now in its fourth year, the summer round table attracts admission representatives from across the nation to Interlochen Center for the Arts. The admission focus group for visual and performing arts comes together again in 2014 with the goal of sharing best practices and cutting edge admissions strategies. This group provides a framework for consistent communication in the changing landscape of admissions and arts education. Presentations and discussions in the past have centered around topics such as: best practices in online management (using tools such as Decision Desk, Slide Room, etc), audition scheduling policies, issues surrounding international admissions, the use of summer programs and festivals as recruitment opportunities and much more. Topics and speakers for 2014 will be made available early May.
Looking forward to the Arts Round Table (2015): Future of the Arts
Interlochen, in partnership with The Chicago Academy for the Arts, Idyllwild Arts Academy and Walnut Hill School for the Arts, will expand this event to include the wider community of arts educators. The goal of the Conference is to energize the national discussion about arts education. By bringing together ambitious and dedicated arts educators passionate about working together as a national arts community, we hope to connect the people and resources required to create the next generation of arts leaders and premier arts programs.
