This class is designed to help participants develop skill in this one simple and elegant calligraphic style and to provide a foundation of pen skills on which to build. Basic design principles and methods and tips for using calligraphy for personal projects will be covered, as will various materials and tools used for calligraphy. This is a beginning class, suitable for people who have never tried calligraphy or for someone wanting to refresh their skills. Optional Brown Bag Lunch: Instructor presentation and discussion of the history of calligraphy for any participants who want to bring a sack lunch, see beautiful letters, talk about letter-forms or generally socialize with people who love letters.
