Are you struggling with where your creative work fits within your current lifestyle? Do you have a project you want to manifest within the next year or so? This workshop is designed to provide heat and promote development through a three-day process of incubation. Together, we’ll consider your ideas, take stock of your challenges, ask good questions, and define the next steps to move you along the path to completing your idea. You’ll also cross-pollinate with other artists, and explore some of the best practices that veteran collaborator, Holly Wren Spaulding, has found in the fields of poetry, dance, performance, visual arts, activism, and meditation. Workshop take-aways include strategies for resisting overwhelm, crippling doubt, and self-sabotage, as well as a timeline for your project, and a draft of an artist statement. This inspiring workshop is ideal for committed artists and makers who have a genuine desire to turn up the heat on their creative process. Faculty Holly Wren Spaulding Instructor of Creative Writing, Interlochen College of Creative Arts Schedule Supplies Please bring something you admire that was created by someone else (a hero, mentor or ancestor) and something you’ve made. It doesn’t need to be "art" but a glimpse of your creative endeavors. A notebook and writing utensil (or laptop or tablet) to take notes is helpful.
