Join mountain dulcimer performer/songwriter/recording artist and educator, Tull Glazener, in this afternoon workshop appropriate for players who are beyond beginner* to those at the level of intermediate or above. The first of two 90-minute sessions will focus on flatpicking, a technique useful both for playing backup in groups and jams, and playing melodies. In the second session, Tull will guide and instruct participants as they work together on a number of multi-part and ensemble arrangements from a diverse variety of musical genres such as old-time/fiddle tunes, waltzes/aires, Tin Pan Alley, "world" folk music, and more. D-A-D tuning. *Participants should have at least an elementary understanding of the mountain dulcimer and basic techniques/concepts. Please note that the Mountain Dulcimer Immersive Workshop, co-taught by Tull Glazener, Wanda Degen, and DeeDee Tibbits, will take place on Saturday, June 9.
