Register Here Do you find yourself so overwhelmed by the daily rush of deadlines, emails and obligations that the present seems to slip by, unaccounted for? Do you finally drift off to sleep with an image in your mind, or the line for a poem you intend to write, and then wake up to your alarm, that line or image long forgotten? Do you wish to slow down, even for a few hours, perhaps just to jot down one or two words, but find that such a luxury is hard to come by? If so, this poetry workshop invites you to sit back and write from the world around you, as it is in this present moment. Together we will look at poems born of attentiveness, and inspired by the world that presents itself when we give ourselves the gift of time. You will receive prompts for poems that you can continue to develop long after the workshop concludes, and writers will have the opportunity to share the pieces they begin in class, as well as give and receive constructive, considered feedback to carry into the revision process. Whether you are a practiced poet or exploring the genre for the first time, this workshop will equip you with new material, fresh perspectives and inspiration to carry into future work.
