Fiber Dyeing for Spinners

In this workshop, we will dye fiber using a variety of techniques that will enable spinners to express their deep love of their favorite colors while learning new techniques to help finesse their results.

Collage is the art of creating an image by assembling different materials onto a two-dimensional surface. Chicago-based artist Philip Hartigan will guide you through the process of selecting materials to design a compelling composition that is meaningful to you.

Beginning Knitting

Adult Arts Program

Learn how to knit and purl while working on a hat and scarf in this 6-hour introductory-level class taught by nationally known knitting instructor, Sarah Peasley. Discussions regarding knitting needles, yarns, notions, and gauge will introduce students to the world of knitting.

Beginning Italic Calligraphy

Italic calligraphy is a fluid and dynamic calligraphic style with a Renaissance tradition that has contemporary use in personal projects, weddings, and awards. The letter forms have traditional structures and forms, but also lend themselves to lively and diverse individual expression.
