Join Interlochen Public Radio's Peter Payette to learn the basics of field recording, audio mixing, and editing to produce your own radio stories or simple podcasts. Using practical, hand-on exercises, participants will be introduced to the world of online media using IPR's audio recording equipment and will receive a behind the scenes look into the IPR studios. All skill levels are welcome. Begin listening session. Why Sound? Distribute recording equipment and prepare for morning fieldwork. 9 p.m.Conclude for evening Saturday, May 16 9:30 - 11 a.m.Class Session 2: Fieldwork Onsite at Traverse City Farmers MarketField recording basics in the field. Instructor Peter Payette will meet participants onsite at the farmers market and will provide one-on-one guidance in order to obtain audio footage. 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.Lunch Break and Travel Back to Interlochen Campus 12:30 - 3 p.m.Class Session 3: Classroom 106/107Review morning.
