General Information

Interlochen College of Creative Arts provides a lifetime of enrichment, creativity and professional growth through workshops and classes in a variety of arts disciplines for adults 18 years or older. Adults of all ages and skill levels create, perform and learn from a faculty of accomplished artists and performers.  Classes and concerts are conducted on the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts, in the woods of northern Michigan.

Registration

Class sizes are limited; participants will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Early registration will help ensure your enrollment in the chosen adult education program.  Registrations received after the program registration deadline will be processed as space permits with the approval of the Interlochen College of Creative Arts' Director. 

Registration confirmation will be sent via e-mail once registration form and payment have been received and processed.  Please complete one registration form per participant per program enrolled.  Full tuition payment is required to be submitted with the completed registration form for each individual participant.

Cancellations by the participant made before the program registration deadline are subject to a $75 non-refundable deposit. No tuition refunds will be given after the registration deadline.  A full tuition refund will be issued if the event is cancelled. Tuition fees do not include campus lodging and meals unless specifically noted.

College Student Discount
If you are a student currently enrolled at a college or university, you may qualify for a student discount of $50 off the registration fee.  You must submit a photocopy of a valid current student photo ID or official course schedule with your completed registration form and payment.  Discount applies only to programs of three or more days in length.  Discount does not apply to the Oboe Master Conference or the New Horizons Music Camp.

SB-CEUs
Interlochen Center for the Arts is an authorized provider of continuing education units (SB-CEUs) as approved by the State Board of Education in Michigan.  Please contact us if you are an educator who is interested in earning SB-CEUs for attending an Interlochen College of Creative Arts' event.  A $20 administrative record fee applies to SB-CEUs.

Campus Information

Enjoy walking between classes, rehearsals and performances in venues spread across Interlochen Center forthe Arts' spacious campus situated between two deep freshwater lakes. Comfortable walking shoes and a portable luggage cart for transporting your instrument are strongly encouraged. The campus also offers lake swimming and tennis. Michigan's largest state park campground is across the highway from the camp and Interlochen Golf Club is approximately three miles from campus. Location and Transportation
Interlochen Center for the Arts is 16 miles southwest of Traverse City, Michigan, two miles south of US 31 on highway M-137. Traverse City is serviced by several daily flights via Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis. If Stone Student Center is notified in advance of arrival time, participants arriving by plane or bus will be met by Interlochen transportation for a nominal fee. Housing
Interlochen Center for the Arts offers a range of accommodations, including historic hotel rooms, spartan residence hall units and rustic, cabin-style lodges. Experience these camp accommodations once used by such Interlochen legends as Howard Hanson, Percy Grainger, and Van Cliburn and Interlochen alumni including conductors Gerard Schwarz, Lorin Maazel and Frederick Fennell, violinists William Preucil and Ida Kavafian and clarinetist David Shifrin.  Please click here to visit the College of Creative Arts' Amenities website page that includes reservation details for housing, meals and transportation. 

Things to Bring
Informal clothing is preferred for all activities. A warm jacket, rain gear, flashlight, small spiral notebook, small electric fan, sunscreen, bug spray, comfortable walking shoes and laundry soap (coin-operated facilities are available) should be included. Swimming suits and other sports equipment may be included, according to individual preference.

Music stands will be provided for the scheduled sessions only; please bring a collapsible music stand for elective playing. The on-campus Scholarshop has all the musical supplies you may need.  A portable luggage cart for any large instruments is recommended. 

Instrument Rental Information
Please click here  to download and print the Instrument Rental Form.  Instrument availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please complete the Instrument Rental Form and return to ICA, Attn: Lyndsay Hunter, P.O.
