Join author Aaron Stander for a four-day intensive retreat that will walk you through the genre of mystery and crime writing. Explore the building blocks of this art form including openings and endings, scene development, point of view, narrative voice, the art of detection, and police procedures. Along the way, you will have many opportunities to write and share new sketches that could become a part of your first book. In the evenings, there will be opportunities for readings, tutorials, extended workshops, and other non-felonious activities. Participants need to bring their own laptops and be willing to share their work with other group members. While the focus will be on developing new material, there may be time to examine prior manuscripts. This workshop is a fantastic exploration into the mystery and crime writing genre and participants should be prepared for an intensive and exciting experience.
