Amy MacLennan

Welcome Painters!

It is that time again—so pick up your easels and pots of paint! Plunk the floppy hat down over your ears because we are gearing up for another fantastic week of blue water, green hills and the glorious sound effects of the 2009 Interlochen Plein Air Painting Workshop!

Here’s to those hearty souls returning for more—here’s to total immersion in the discipline and pleasures of painting! For the as yet uninitiated, be prepared to experience color like never before, partake in a community of like-minded souls and discover why we love painting.

Last year was such a wonderful experience for me—making friends and communicating my knowledge and passion for painting. I am so delighted to have the opportunity to visit such a special place again and to work with creative people like you.   —Amy

Amy MacLennan is a professor of art at Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska, where she teaches all levels of painting and art history. Firmly grounded in perceptual painting, her approach to the motif is in turn whimsical and rational. Her interior scenes have been described as “eerily provocative” by Jeffrey Schroeder. Amy’s work is in private and public collections throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
