Carol McAnulty

Carol is a certified K-12 teacher in both Michigan and New York. Carol is currently the Guitarist in Residence at Northern Michigan University and teaches from private studios in Washington DC, Marquette and Benzie County. She previously served as Instructor of Guitar at the Northern Center for Lifelong Learning and Northern Michigan University. She has studied in master class with John Wunsch, Antigoni Goni, Nicholas Goluses, Alvaro Pierri, Paul O’Dette, Stanley Yates, David Russell, Abel Carlevaro, Karin Schaupp, Sharon Ibsin, Troy King, Rafaella Smits and William Kanengiser, in addition to studying privately with William Simms and Paul Vondiziano.

Initially trained as a clarinetist, Carol holds Master of Music in Performance from the Catholic University of America and a Bachelor of Music in Performance and Education from Michigan State University.  Carol has performed as a Free-Lance Soloist with the Northern Michigan University Symphony Orchestra, the United States Air Force Band , Interlochen National Music and the Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra  She has performed with the United States Air Force Band, performed solo guitar recitals and serves as Guitar Accompanist for Student and Faculty Recitals at Northern Michigan University. Carol is retired from 20 years as a clarinetist in the United States Air Force Band, currently is Principal Clarinet with the Marquette Symphony Orchestra as well as being active with the Superior Chamber Players, Superior Festival Orchestra and the Benzie Area Symphony Orchestra.
