Dan Kelchak

Around 1974 Dan took his Martin D-35 to a repair shop in Chicago to have
some major guitar repair work done.  After he picked the guitar up, he discovered
that they had not fixed, but rather, nearly destroyed it.  Dan repaired what they
had done, vowed that he would learn this craft and never leave anyone with this
experience.  In the summer of 1979 Dan opened his guitar repair shop here in
Traverse City Michigan.  During his 30 years of restoring guitars he has earned the reputation of, "If you want it done right, take it to Dan".  The Grand Traverse Area is home to some of the best guitarists on the planet.  It has been and continues to be Dan's honor to serve the guitar players in his community, the students who study here at Interlochen Center for the Arts, and the professional players who come to Northern Michigan to perform. This is Dan's fifth year as a presenter for the Guitar Institute and he is looking forward to being with you again.
