David Fry and his wife, Gail, live in the small town of Toccoa in Northeast Georgia. One of his favorite pastimes is driving his 1970 Triumph TR6 over the mountain roads. David holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education from the University of Georgia. He has nineteen years public school teaching experience: Elementary, Middle and High School. He also has taught in college and now instructs privately. David has worked for eighteen years as a band instrument repair technician, specializing in woodwinds. His shop is in the Draisen-Edwards Music Center, Anderson, SC. David has over thirty years of professional playing experience with many jazz bands, symphony orchestras, jazz-oriented combos and performing as a one-man band. He currently has two solo CDs containing original, jazz-flavored compositions and a third one soon to be completed. He has conducted Jazz and Dixieland Ensembles and held Improvisation and Saxophone technique clinics at the Unicoi New Horizons camps (Helen, Ga.) for the last five years. David plays all band instruments but limits his professional playing to Clarinet, Electronic Wind Instrument and Keyboards. David will be teaching the Dixieland Band and Saxophone Chamber Music.
