Emily J. Gómez

Emily J. Gómez was born in Michigan in 1976. She earned a B.A. in Fine Arts Photography from Loyola University Chicago in 1998 then went on to work as the Staff Photographer for a metropolitan Detroit newspaper, The Spinal Column Newsweekly, for five years. In 2006, she earned an M.F.A. with Distinction in Photography from the University of Georgia, Athens. She is an Associate Professor of Art at Georgia College, where she teaches all levels of photography, both darkroom and digital. She lives in Milledgeville, Georgia with her sculptor and sound artist husband, Ernesto R. Gómez and their dog, Maya.
