Matt Brewer

Bassist and composer Matt Brewer graduated from Interlochen and moved to New York where he studied as one of two bassists to be accepted into Julliard's inaugural Jazz Studies Program. Since then he has played and toured with musicians such as Greg Osby, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Lee Konitz, Terrence Blanchard, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Aaron Parks and many others.

Matt appears on dozens of recordings including two on Blue Note Records, "Avatar" by Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and "Channel Three" by Greg Osby. He has extensive touring and teaching experience across Europe, Asia, the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Matt also leads several of his own groups in New York's finest jazz clubs. He is an adjunct faculty member at New York's New School University. He currently resides in Santa Fe, NM.
