Matthew has been active as a performer, composer, session player and clinician for over thirty years. He is an alumnus of Citrus College, Mount San Antonio College and The Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California. Matthew is also the Director of Guitar Studies at the Grammy Summer Music Camp and he has recently put out an instructional DVD, The Path to Fretboard Mastery, with the UK company, LickLibrary.com.
He continues to tour internationally in support of his debut CD release of original compositions, In This Present Moment, which was produced by Jimmy Haslip of The Yellowjackets, and features Peter Erskine, Larry Goldings, Bob Mintzer, Terri Lyne Carrington, James Genus, Bob Sheppard, Gary Novak, Darek Oles and Marcus Baylor among others. Matthew currently teaches Jazz Guitar at University of Missouri, Saint Louis.
