Nathaniel Farny

Nathaniel, violinist and violist, plays with many Boston area groups, including the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, the Orchestra of Emmanuel Music, the New England String Ensemble and Opera Boston. He is a member of the Alcyon Chamber Ensemble and the Kerberos Quartet and he is on the faculty of the Cambridge School of Weston.

During the summers he has been a chamber music coach at the Somerville String Camp, the Winchester Music School String Festival and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras summer program. Other summer activities include the Britt Music Festival Orchestra in Oregon and the Crested Butte Music Festival Orchestra in Colorado.

Past teachers include Michèle Auclair at the New England Conservatory and Kathleen Winkler at Rice University. He is currently enrolled in the doctor of musical arts program at Boston University, studying viola performance with Steven Ansell and Edward Gazouleas.
