Patti Kroth conducts the Michigan State University Community Music School New Horizons Band, a group she began in 2002. She began the New Horizons Too band this past fall. She also teaches clarinet. After a twelve year hiatus, Patti recently returned to public school teaching. She is the band director for grades five through eight in the East Lansing Public Schools in East Lansing, Michigan. She earned a bachelor's degree at Ithaca College and a Master of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music. Patti taught instrumental music in the public schools at all levels in New York, Colorado, and South Dakota. She also taught at the University of Sioux Falls and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She lives in Holt, Michigan, with her husband of 20 years, Michael, their son Daniel, and daughter Heidi. Her hobbies include reading, hiking, and spending time with her family. Patti will be teaching Clarinet Chamber Music and conducting Band 2 with Bob Martin.
