Penelope Fischer

Penny is principal flute for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the Michigan Chamber Symphony and a member of the Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings. She helped establish the Ann Arbor School for Performing Arts and was formerly on faculty at the Levine School of Music at George Washington University and the University of Michigan. She holds degrees from the University of Iowa, the University of Michigan and earned her doctorate of musical arts from the University of Maryland and has completed post-doctoral work with Jean-Pierre Rampal.
