Program Overview
Discover the best ways to prepare a promising young actor for auditions and success at the college or university level.
David Montee will share practical strategies for successful auditioning as well as insights about helping theatre students find the “right” theatre program. In more than twenty-five years of theatre instruction, Montee has worked with thousands of promising actors. He regularly helps students identify and audition for leading theatre programs and his students have gone on to find success on stage and screen.
Interlochen Center for the Arts is an authorized provider of continuing education units (SB-CEUs) as approved by the Michigan State Board of Education. Michigan educators participating in the Audition Workshop for Theatre Educators may be able to receive SB-CEUs. Workshop classes will be held in the Harvey Theatre on the campus of Interlochen Center for the Arts. Harvey Theatre is a state-of-the-art theatre and rehearsal space and hosts Interlochen Arts Academy and Interlochen Arts Camp performances. The Harvey Theatre is also home to the new Mallory Costume Shop which stores over 15,000 costume pieces and includes a large work area.
