The Chapman Stick Workshop will include instruction for players of the Chapman Stick®, the two-handed tapping electric instrument popularized in the 1970s and 1980s by Tony Levin, who performed alongside artists including Peter Gabriel and King Crimson.

Master performers and teachers of the Chapman Stick® will lead a variety of technique classes and perform in concert. The three day workshop will feature hands-on sessions for beginner, intermediate and advanced players, including a chance for participants to play together in formal and informal settings. We conclude the workshop with a group conference call with the inventor of the Chapman Stick®, Emmett Chapman.
Registration and Cancellation
Interlochen College of Creative Arts offers a variety of education programs in the arts for adults 18 years or older. Participant must turn 18 years of age on or before the first day of the desired education program. Enrollment is limited to 24 participants who will be registered on a first-come, first served basis.
Full tuition payment is required to be submitted with the completed registration. Registration confirmation will be sent via email once registration and payment have been received and processed. Please complete one registration per participant per program enrolled. Tuition fees do not include housing and meals. Inform the hotel reservation agent which adult education program you are a participant in to request your group rate lodging discount.
Cancellations by the participant made in writing three weeks (21 days) prior to the start of the event are subject to a $75 cancellation fee. No tuition refunds will be given for any cancellation requests received after the cancellation deadline. A full tuition refund will be issued if the event is canceled.
