Most fretboard instruments are used to provide rhythm accompaniment with chords. Find out what chords are, how they fit together, and learn some of the most common chord progressions used in popular music; all knowledge that makes it easier to figure out how to play songs by ear. This workshop is for anyone who has at least a little experience playing and knows some major, minor, and seventh chords from memory. Students should bring a fretboard instrument with them to the workshop, such as a guitar, a ukulele, a mandolin, or a banjo. Bass guitar players may also benefit. Also, bring writing materials.
