Register Here Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop with Matthew Schroeder and 2021 Guest Artist Pat Donohue:The Interlochen Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop, led by guitarist and instructor Matthew Schroeder, features an accomplished faculty who will work to energize you and help you grow your playing skills. In this 4-day program, you will work closely with Interlochen faculty members Matthew Schroeder, Tom Clippert and renowned guest artists Pat Donohue. Participants will attend workshops covering the spectrum of fingerstyle guitar. Topics include arranging, composing, theory and technique, as well as performance tips and ways to stay inspired. You will experience intimate evening concerts featuring our guest artists. Participants should have at least one year of serious study on the guitar, should know how to read either tablature or standard notation and should possess a basic understanding of chord structure and alternate tunings. Students must supply their own instrument. A steel-string acoustic guitar is preferred but a nylon string “classical” guitar will also work. Attendees should also have a capo, clip-on tuner and an extra set of strings. Additional Optional Supplies: Pencils, a notebook for notes and a folder for handouts.
