In this 4-day program, you will work closely with Interlochen faculty members Matthew Schroeder, Tom Clippert and renowned guest artists. Participants will attend workshops covering the spectrum of fingerstyle guitar. Topics include arranging, composing, theory and technique, as well as performance tips and ways to stay inspired. Equally inspiring is the Interlochen campus, a state-of-the-art venue with a Northwoods feel. It’s a perfect place to leave distractions behind and focus on the guitar in a warm and welcoming environment. In addition to the many workshops, there will be plenty of time over the four days to socialize and network with fellow participants and faculty members. You will gain valuable feedback on your playing through supportive coaching in the performance workshops. You will experience intimate evening concerts featuring our guest artists, have an opportunity to perform with fellow attendees, and have a chance to share your music with the group at the exclusive open mic session at the Karlin Inn. Participants should have at least one year of serious study on the guitar, should know how to read either tablature or standard notation and should possess a basic understanding of chord structure and alternate tunings.
