Register Here for Vocal Pedagogy for the Choral Singer This course is geared toward the adult choir singer with little or no prior vocal training. Topics covered in this 8-hour workshop include proper inspiration (both quick and slow), breath management, the importance of vowels, proper use of the articulators, consonants, eliminating inappropriate tension, and managing the vocal registers. Participants may bring their own yoga mat and a head rest roughly 1 1/2" thick. Interlochen will also provide yoga mats for your use. Faculty Lindsey Van de Kirk Instructor of Music, Interlochen College of Creative Arts Schedule Supplies Participants may elect to bring their own yoga mat and a book of their choosing roughly 1 ½” thick, or may opt to use the yoga mat and yoga blocks provided by Interlochen. Also, participants may bring a piece they are currently working on in order to get help on a specific difficulty. The class will observe and also learn!
