Join us for this 2-day weekend workshop and learn methods for giving your work the emotional layering required to make it satisfying to both editors and readers. We will read published excerpts and explore how successful authors have structured their stories with emotion. Brainstorming exercises, group discussions, and in-class writing activities will focus on layering your writing for deeper meaning and impact. Participants will share their work in a supportive environment and receive constructive feedback. Please join us to reinvigorate your writing practice! Faculty Nadine Kenney Johnstone Creative Writing Instructor, Interlochen College of Creative Arts Schedule Supplies Students should bring a notebook, pen, and laptop or tablet. For those who would prefer, Interlochen has Mac laptops available to borrow while working in the classroom. If you plan to borrow a laptop, please bring a flash drive so you can save your work. Works in progress are welcome, but not required. Please bring a bagged lunch on Saturday so the class can eat together during the first half of the lunch break. A refrigerator and microwave are available in the break room. Snacks and beverages will also be provided.
