Ann MacMillan

About Ann

Ann MacMillan holds a bachelor's of music education degree from Emporia State University and a master's of music education degree from the University of North Texas. In 1982 MacMillan began repairing musical instruments at Foster Music Company in Garden City, Kansas. She then studied instrument repair with Kim Rawlings and Bob Staley; and worked at Brook Mays Music Company in Dallas, Texas for eight years. MacMillan joined the College of Music as an adjunct professor of instrument repair in 1997. She teaches beginning and advanced repair courses that cover the basics of instrument repair such as repadding, recorking, cleaning, dent work, and soldering. MacMillan also presents workshops for Dallas area band directors and clinics for the Texas Music Educators Association.
