About Darlene

Darlene Dugan is the Director of the flute orchestra and chamber choir for the West Michigan Flute Association. The Director of the showcased West Michigan Flute Orchestra at National Flute Association conventions, she has also conducted numerous flute choir master classes and conducted the flute orchestra for Jeanne Baxtresser's Masterclasses at Juilliard and Carnegie Melon since 2000. She has performed with the American Flute Orchestra, Colorado Flute Orchestra and the American Directors Orchestra and was the principle flutist for the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Amarillo Symphony Orchestras. She has taught at Interlochen, Western Michigan University Summer Seminars, Kalamazoo Chamber Music Workshops, seven area colleges and universities and has a private studio in Grand Rapids, MI. She studied with Albert Tipton and John Wummer and also taught music theory at Grand Rapids Community College, Amarillo Collegec and Bethel College.
